Research skills and interests
I’m a mixed methods researcher with a strong foundation in advanced quantitative methods. My work includes developing and validating psychometric measures, designing and analysing large-scale longitudinal survey data, and applying techniques like social network analysis and machine learning (e.g. k-means clustering). I’m proficient in R, Python, and MATLAB, and I’m building skills in SQL and dashboarding to support accessible, impactful insight-sharing.
My qualitative experience includes focus groups, open-text survey design and reflexive thematic analysis. I’m passionate about research that is collaborative and meaningful, and I regularly work with stakeholders and student advisors to shape study design, materials, and outputs.
Broadly, my research interests focus on emerging adult mental health, identity formation, and social support. I’m especially intrigued by how new technologies, like conversational AI, might impact mental health and social connection.
I’m also interested in improving how we measure and understand childhood adversity and its impact on mental health, informed by personal experience and a commitment to survivor-centred research.
Contributions to scholarship
My published works address topics such as student and staff mental health, as well as best practices for embedding open and reproducible scholarship in the curriculum.
I am passionate about providing advice on inclusive survey design and approaches to research, as well as effective public engagement and social media campaigns.

Commitment to Equality, Diversity and Inclusion
I actively contribute to advancing Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion through mentoring and leadership roles. I’ve helped organise training and awareness-raising events on inclusive survey design and underrepresented identities, in collaboration with internationally-leading advocates and university colleagues. I also mentor early career researchers and represent staff voices across multiple departmental and institutional groups.
